Hello ultras. From time to time I will show you how to make things. This time it is smoke. You've seen it. There's a goal and the supporters light off smoke bombs.
The best supporters make their own. Why buy puny little smoke balls for a dollar? It's way more cheap to just buy some powder sugar and powder Drano and make your own any size you want.
Not to mention it is a great way to make use of the empty cans of beer you smuggled into the stadium.

I found empty cans of Red Bull also work very well (and are smaller). You can make other colors with additives (see below). But this works well for a team with green as their main color.
Hit play to see just how easy this stuff is to make. You can buy wicks online in the US or Canada or make your own.

Soy Wax Dye, used in making home made candles or soap works really well to make colored smoke bombs. You can buy some Soy Wax Dye Blocks in different colors on ebay or search for them online.
Basically any organic dry dye will do. You must break it up and make it into a powder to add to the mixture. I've made green, red, blue, yellow-green and orange so far.
Make sure you get the dry stuff as the liquid will not work. And make sure you mix it in well. 1/6th-1/4 of your formula should be dye. Experiment first at home. Then take your smoke bombs to the stadium.
LASTLY:
There are creative ways to get them into even the most secure stadiums (ever watch the World Cup.) I won't go into that in this post but if you google around you can find out.
DO:
Be safe.
Light it under a giant banner or one of those giant jerseys (Ask Houston Dynamo and Chivas USA supporters about this).
Make more than one in case something happens to it. Plus, the more smoke the better the tifo display.
Place them around the section if you have control over your section like in DC.
DO NOT - NEVER EVER:
Throw smoke bombs onto the pitch.
Throw smoke bombs at all. Light them and get away from them if you must but do not throw.
Make a smoke bomb bigger than a liter in size. They are just too cumbersome and hard to handle.
BE SAFE = HAVE FUN

Does RIT dye work for dye?
No. RIT and other clothes dyes do not work. Only dry organic dyes used in candlemaking work.
Is the smoke safe, like a commercial smoke bomb would be?
ya, just wondering how safe the smoke is?
Do you have to get out of the way, or is it "ok" to be around?
No the smoke is not safe it is TOXIC so you will have to get out of the area! Also the burning or in this case the smoking chemicals generate a lot of heat so if it spills on you or someone else then you have a problem.
The smoke is no more toxic than that of a smoke bomb you buy. The difference is this produces a hell of a lot more smoke. You don't really want to breathe in huge amounts of any smoke, whether its from sulfur or black powder like store bouught ones or draino like this home made one.
